ABOUT

Hello, I am Judith Wambui Preston
I am a complex PTSD and trauma expert committed to helping women learn how to make meaning of what happened to them, address symptoms related to the trauma such as depression, anxiety, and substance use and utilize coping strategies to improve functioning.
I founded Centered Counseling Services, LLC to provide Trauma-Informed Mental Health Services to those in need of a safe place to process and work through difficult lived experiences. I believe that when we feel supported, we become less afraid, more centered, and connected to our lives. We see ourselves more clearly, learn how to identify and meet our needs. My hope for you is that you can participate in your life in a way that makes you feel grounded, secure, and insightful about who you are.
Identities
I am a Black Cis-gender female, an immigrant of Kenyan descent, trilingual (I speak three languages) and I am middle-aged and able-bodied. I am also a spouse, parent, sibling, and aunt. I enjoy traveling, going for walks, listening to the radio, and watching drama series. I also enjoy spending time with my family and friends.
Education & Experience
I’ve practiced in settings that include community mental health agencies, a children’s hospital, and college counseling center. I have worked with children, teens, adults, and families and provided individual, family, and group therapy.
